    PS3 slim optical drive defect

We got a bunch of PS3s here we've been putting aside of the bunch we've been getting in the past few months. The ones that we've not able to fix like this particular ones where the bd drive is defective after replacing the laser lens. Not much idea how to service these further than lens/cable replacement. Not sure if getting another board and swap the key chip is worth a try.

We currently have three with this problem where the drive is unresponsive to the disk's insertion. It's like they're dead.

    What do you think?

First make sure it's not the sensor.
Then replace the driver IC(s), they're the ones with a bd7969efv part number. They're available anywhere.

Ordered a couple of those driver ICs, I'll let you know how we go. Much appreciated.
