    820-3662 missing S4 enable - stuck in S5 state

    Clean board, no liquid.

    It has green/orange light.

    PP3v3_S5 and PP5v_S5 are present.

    No S4 (or S3 or S0) rails are present.

    No shorts detected on any S4, S3, or S0 rails.

    Missing PM_SLP_S5_L and SMC_S4_WAKESRC_EN which are required to enable S4 rails.

    Trying to figure out why these two signals are missing...

    ppbus_g3h = 12.57
    PPVIN_S5_HS_COMPUTING_ISNS = 12.57
    PPVIN_S5_HS_OTHER3V3_ISNS = 12.57
    PPVIN_S5_HS_OTHER5V_ISNS = 12.57
    PP3V42_G3H = 3.44
    PPVRTC_G3H = 3.34
    PP5V_S5 = 5.04
    PP5V_S4 = 0v no short
    pp5v_s3 = 0v no short
    pp5v_s0 - 0v no short
    pp3v3_s5 = 3.34v
    pp3v3_s4 = 0v no short
    pp3v3_s3 = 0v no short
    pp3v3_s0 = 0v no short
    pp3v3_sus = 3.34
    PM_SYSRST_L = 0v
    PM_BATLOW_L = 0v
    PM_PWRBTN_L = 3.42
    PM_RSMRST_L = 3v
    PM_SLP_SUS_L = 3.4v
    SMC_ADAPTER_EN = 3.4v
    SMC_PM_G2_EN = 3.43v
    SMC_S4_WAKESRC_EN = 0v
    PM_SLP_S5_L = 0v
    PM_PCH_SYS_PWROK = 0v
    PM_PCH_PWROK = 0v
    PM_DSW_PWRGD = 3.43v
    PCH_DSWVRMEN = 3.23v

    EDIT: Are batteries required for this model to start? I hooked up battery since BATLOW was missing and now I get fan spin... No display and no chime though...

    Are clock signals present?

    do you get pp5v a little spike when you connect the adapter.also check smc_onoff_l resistance and smc_vref and 1.2v for smc.

    Not sure if you saw the edit, but the original problem was caused by my stupidity. 65W charger kept BATLOW and 0v. It goes into S0 state with charger and battery. Waiting on a 85w charger to come in the mail...

    To be honest I haven't owned an oscilloscope until last week. Still trying to figure it out...

    When measuring clock signals, do I take the measurement on the crystal itself? And which signals should I be concerned with?

    I am able to measure 25mhz on pin 1 and 3 of Y1905.

    I am also able to measure 12mhz on Y5110.

    I am able to measure 32.7khz on SMC_CLK32K on R5112.
