    Re: ultrasonic cleaners

I got an old dentists cleaner. I can fit the whole board in and cost only $50

Is the board powering up and chiming?

    Re: 820-00923-A BKLT_EN_R missing

Not sure on this model, but other Macs need to have comms with the display established before backlight is enabled.
Check the comms lines to see if there's activity

    Re: PM_SLP_S4_l only 1.5v

    What resistance for PP5V_S0?
  7. Re: 820-4924 is trolling me with ALL_SYS_PWRGD

Does U1950 look OK? This takes in ALL_SYS_PWRGD and is often damaged.

I'd take a closer look at 1V8S3_PGOOD too. Do any of the other PGOOD signals show low readings?

    Re: 820-3437 no serial number

I'd just reflash the EFI ROM with the correct serial number.
  10. Re: Macbook Air A1466 with 820-00165A troubles

OK, you're going to have to go through all the power rails and see which one is missing.
Follow the schematic for the board and post where you get up to.
  11. Re: Macbook Air A1466 with 820-00165A troubles

Looks to be U8160 - S0 PGOOD signal, but it's not used on this version - it was for development only so should be blank.
I'd clean up the area to see if the crud is dragging down the signals since...

    Re: 820-3462 no battery detected

Are there any shorts on these lines?
Do they still show 0v all the way back to U4900?
    Are the pull-ups OK?

    Re: 820-3662 missing PPBUS_G3H

You'll have to find out which rail is shorted. Check them one by one.
You said you haven't injected power yet?

    Re: 820-3662 missing PPBUS_G3H

What PM_SLP state does the board go to?
    Do you get ALL_SYS_PWRGD?
If you think the CPU is toast it will get all the way thru the power up sequence and to CPU VCORE.

Is PPBUS_G3H OK at around 12.6v with the fuse removed?

    Re: 820-00840 pulsing P3V3S5_EN

    Update:
I've checked PP1V_S5G and this is shorted to ground.
I'll inject some voltage and see what gets hot.

    820-00840 pulsing P3V3S5_EN

I've got this clean board which doesn't power on as PP3V3_S5 was pulsing.
I've traced this to PP3V3S5_EN pulsing.

    So far I've got:

    PPBUS_G3H 13v
    Charger 20v 0.01A
    PP3V3_G3H 3.4v
    PP5V_S5...

I've got the schematics which helps a lot. Shame I don't have the board view, but most of the components are marked.
I've injected a voltage onto the 19v rail, but its a dead short so I get a low...

Check the keyboard connector on the board with a microscope.
Also check the ribbon cable from the board to the trackpad.

    Re: 820-3115 smc_bc_acok is 0v

It should be pulled up? Check R5087. You are getting PP3v3_S5?
This is normally generated by U7000, but I see you've removed it.
Bear in mind that this is also used on the onewire to get power from...

    Re: 00163 No Backlight

Stepping back a bit, what voltages are you getting from F7700, thru R7700, Q7706, L7710 and D7701?
