    The ambersil ultrasonic solution is quite good at cleaning boards, you mix it 1 part to 5 with water either distilled or normal is just fine.

    I remember doing this for many hours. Getting a direct heat stencil is much easier than using NDH IMO.

    Which machine are you using?

    I remove the IHS all the time, i use the hot air wand at 450*C and then lift the IHS. Clean it all up then reflow it.

    I've had good success with the ones i have done, i recommend giving them a good TAL time and lots of lower heat to try and ensure they don't fail soon after repair.

    I have a Honton R392 and had a couple of RSXs with RAM bleed but i have no problems anymore. I use more lower heat than top heat this seems to resolve the problem due to not as much heat having to go...

    Reballing and replacing older intel CPUs is quite simple due to the large ball size, they're quite easy to allign also using touch onto the motherboard if you don't have an outline.

    If you add a light bulb etc in series you will stop the supply going into over current protection correct. Providing you do the sums and use the correct wattage :)
